Why cable-free?
Unlike other powered electronic locking systems, Haken Systems locks do not need to be hardwired into mains electricity, electrically tested or professionally installed. Haken Systems locks also operate independently of an establishment’s IT system and so do not require network cables or Wi-Fi. Haken locks are not rendered inaccessible by power outages. Furniture and lockers are simple to relocate, they do not need to be placed near mains power or consume high cost energy.
Unlike other powered lock systems the Haken Systems offer RFID compatibility on metal doors, as the design places the transponder in front of the door. Haken locks offer a simple solution to maximise storage space, whereas mains powered locks require the furniture to accommodate central terminals and access holes for wires. Many mains powered locks only work on wooden doors due to the need to rout in cables and cannot be retrofitted to existing storage furniture.
